About Lansvale Sydney 2166
Lansvale is located in the south-western region of Sydney; it is situated 28 km south-west of the Sydney central business district in New South Wales, Australia. Lansvale is located in the Cabramatta state electorate and has a population of 2,323 people. The suburbs surrounding Lansvale are: Canley Vale, Carramar, Lansdowne, Warwick Farm, Chipping Norton and Georges Hall.
The name Lansvale is a combination of the names of 2 neighbouring suburbs – Lansdowne and Canley Vale. The area was a very popular recreational site during the early 1900s with many amusement parks in operation including Latty’s Pleasure Grounds, Hollywood Park and Butterfly Hall. The parks were extremely successful until the Great Depression when they began struggling. Eventually the amusement parks went out of business and land was used for public reserves, most of which are still around today.
Lansvale is also home to Lansdowne Bridge, designed by David Lennox and build in 1834, the bridge is listed on the Register of the National Estate.
