About Forest Lodge Sydney 2037
Forest Lodge is located in the Inner West region of Sydney; it is situated 4 km south west of the Sydney CBD in New South Wales, Australia. Forest Lodge is located in the Balmain state electorate and has a population of 2,722 people. The suburbs surrounding Forest Lodge are: Glebe, Camperdown and Annandale.
The suburb was named after a house erected in 1836 by Ambrose Foss, one of Australia’s first chemists and dentists, the home was later demolished in 1912.
The Forest Lodge area is popular with students from nearby UTS and The University of Sydney and has a small collection of cafes, bars and antique stores at its centre. The suburb is considered to be a quieter alternative to neighbouring Glebe which tends to have a reputation as a rowdy student suburb.
The suburb is home to a small but popular park called Lew Hoad, named for the famous Australian tennis player who won Wimbledon twice and was the world’s top ranked tennis player in 1956.
