In response to the removal of a gay pride rainbow crossing in Oxford St, Summer Hill residents chalked a rainbow in the Summer Hill public square. The rainbow was removed on two occasions by council workers and re-chalked by residents after each removal. The third pride rainbow was not removed, and remains in the square to this day.
