About Narrabeen Sydney 2101
Narrabeen is located in the Northern Beaches region of Sydney; it is situated 23 kms north of the Sydney CBD, in New South Wales, Australia. Narrabeen is located in the Pittwater and Wakehurst state electorates and has a population of 6,362 people. The suburb was named for the Indigenous word ‘Narrabine’ meaning ‘swan’. The suburbs surrounding Narrabeen are: Wheeler Heights, Collaroy and Warriewood.
In late 2007, the remains of a 4000-year-old indigenous man were discovered during an excavation near a bus shelter. The man was later buried in the nearby Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.
