ASKO: The Washing Machine of Choice for Sensitive Australians

Posted: Friday, February 15, 2019

ASKO has long been a leading retailer of household appliances in Australia, their innovative and sustainable washing machine range has always been a favourite for Australian families, but now there’s even more reason to consider ASKO for your family.

Just last year the ASKO washing machine range received approval by the National Asthma Council Australia’s Sensitive Choice program, making them the only appliance brand in Australia to receive the accreditation, and an excellent choice for people with allergies and asthma.

Asthma and Allergies in Australia

According the the Asthma Council of Australia, 2.3 million Australians suffer from asthma and an astonishing one in three suffer from allergies. The conditions are often set off by triggers in the home; things like dust mites, moulds, pollens and pet hair, and the wrong appliances can make conditions worse by circulating allergens around the home.

The Sensitive Choice Product Advisory Panel reviews products to test which ones limit their impact on those suffering from asthma and allergies and only those that pass their testing are able to display the program’s logo - a blue butterfly. The panel is made up of experts in respiratory medicine and allergy medicine, as well as industrial chemistry and consumer issues experts.

So What Gives ASKO the Edge for Asthma Sufferers?

SteelSeal - inspired by commercial washing machine tech, SteelSeal eliminates the rubber door bellow found on most washing machines. The rubber bellow can trap dirt and grime and causes mould to build up over time, in contrast, the SteelSeal never needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Quattro - The industry standard is for washing machines to have two internal legs, the ASKO has four. This reduces noise pollution, but also eliminates vibration, a major cause of dust circulation in the home.

SensiSave - SensiSave sensors build into the machine detect the amount of detergent required for each wash, reducing the amount of build up on garments, giving relief to sensitive users.

The four ASKO models that were approved by the National Asthma Council Australia Sensitive Choice program are: W2084C, W4086C, W4086P and W4104C.

Regular servicing is recommended to prolong the life of your ASKO washing machines. Contact us today to book in your service.
